DO you love making video games? Are you an aspiring video game designer? If so, submit your game to the Spring 2020 Level UP Video Game Competition.


Contest is open to students (Grades 3-12) in North America.

The game programming must be the original work of the student(s) submitting the entry.

Non-original works will be disqualified. What constitutes an original game will be left to the sole discretion of Level UP.

Games must not include copyrighted characters. Outside assets must be cited (graphics, audio, etc.)

There are no restrictions or rules regarding the type of game, number of levels, complexity, etc.

Only one game submission per student or team. 

No limit to the number of game submissions from a single school.

Students may work as individuals or as part of a team (The prize will be divided between the winning contestants)

There are two categories:

  1. Games made using Scratch
  2. Games using any other platform or engine

Steps to register :

  • Create a team-or make a game on your own
  • Fill out the Registration form
  • Upload your game files
  • Game file must not exceed 50mb
  • If your game is in the top 10 share it 


1ST PLACE $500 Amazon Gift card for the winning team and one for their school

2ND PLACE $250 Amazon Gift Card

3RD PLACE $100 Amazon Gift Card

People’s Choice Award $100 Amazon Gift Card

Once we have received your game, it will go through a short approval process, in which we will make sure that the game works. Once, all judging has been completed, the top 10 games in each category will be published on our site and open to voting. If your game is chosen in the top 10 you will be notified and given a copy of the link to share your gam with your friends and social networks.

The competition opens January 1st, 2020.

The submission deadline is May 1st, 2020.

Top 10 entries will be announced May 15, 2020.

Winners will be announced June 5th 2020 at 12:00PM AST.

NOTE: all participating student’s info must be included. Account email addresses will be only used to notify winners and send prizes.

Announcement of Winners

  • Winners will be announced on the Level UP Competition page at the listed dates.
  • Winners will be notified and will receive their prizes via e-mail.
  • Winners will also be announced on our website and Facebook, by email, and on Twitter. Plus the winning games will be posted on our website for all to play!
  • Prizes have to be claimed within 45 days of the winners being announced.

PLEASE NOTE: Only the student’s first name and last initial will be used in our announcements, along with the name of their school.
